exclude/select disks from performance assessment RRS feed

  • Question

  • When running a performance assessment in MAPS, is there a way to select what disks should be measured or exclude selected disks? We have servers that have disks connected via iSCSI for backup purposes and we'd like to exclude those, since it's skewing the collected data.

Also, could the disk perf. statistics be per disk (besides the basic total)?

  • MAP gathers the following performance metrics:

    • LogicalDisk > % Free Space > _Total
    • Memory > Available Bytes
    • Memory > Pool Nonpaged Bytes
    • Memory > Cache Bytes
    • Network Interface > Bytes Total/sec > *
    • Network Interface > Bytes Sent/sec > *
    • Network Interface > Bytes Received/sec > *
    • PhysicalDisk > Disk Transfers/sec > _Total
    • PhysicalDisk > Disk Reads/sec > _Total
    • PhysicalDisk > Disk Writes/sec > _Total
    • Processor > % Processor Time > _Total
    • Processor > % User Time > _Total

If your iSCSI disks show up in PerfMon under those counters, then they will be included and there isn't a way to alter what counters MAP gathers data from.
