my computer has been hacked and some files removed RRS feed

  • Question

  • I was having some difficulty with my computer (Windows XP, version 2002, service pack 3) and discovered through using a free program called Malwarebytes Anti-Malware that 44 problems (viruses/malware?) had infected my computer. I quaranteened and removed the malware. Upon doing so I began having difficulty using Internet Explorer to get on the Internet. Another issue that arose was the jamming of the computer upon logging on and at times the icons on the desktop would not respond when clicked on. I had a technician access my computer through remote assistance and he told me my computer had been hacked and some files removed. He said he could refer me to some technicians in another department who could fix the problem. But it was pricey so I opted for this forum instead. Could anyone provide some assistance with this problem. Thanks.
