PC Newly Calibrated Screen Confusion RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello. I am a photographer so I recently colour calibrated my screen for maximum colour efficiency for editing my photos.

The colour seems to be perfect when I'm looking on websites at photographers photos, when I am on Lightroom or Photoshop editing, etc. but my issue occurs when trying to view jpg files.

All the photos I had saved in my picture files before calibration now look awful when I open them up in Windows Photo Viewer (but they look alright in the thumbnail version before opening).

It's odd because I tried uploading one of the horrible looking jpgs to facebook and the colour appeared just fine on facebook so I can't help but think this is a problem with Windows Photo Viewer maybe not being under the new calibration?

If anyone has a solution to this problem please let me know. Thank you!

  • Screenshot? I don't see how this would help. How do the pics look in other windows viewing software (e.g. Irfanview)? Problems I've had in this regard were related to my choice of color space. I've settled on sRGB.
