MP Studio - Any good? RRS feed

    Next year we are doing our production deploy of OM2012, I see there is a product out there called MP Studio, I'm wondering if I should budget for a tool like this.  Has anyone used this one?  Is it worth the cost?  Is there any other tool out there I should look at?  Are there any cons to using this?

    Hi Matt

    It is a good tool but only you can really decide if it meets your specific needs \ is worth the cost. For larger environments trying to have consistency across multiple environments e.g. test \ prod and to get an audit trail of changes then this is extremely helpful. The main "catch" on this is that the audit trail only exists for changes made using MP Studio - if admins make changes directly in the SCOM console then they still don't get audited. Much of what is provided can ultimately be done via PShell (and all of it via the SDK) but for most companies, it will be far easier to purchase this than design their own solution.

    You can get a full evaluation from the team there so I'd certainly suggest doing that.
