Answers

  • Its quite common for task manager to be disabled by malware but this may not be the cause of the problem. When you logon to the machine is there any other accounts listed?.
The answers/solutions that I provide are from personal experience. They are as is and come with no warranty.

  • Also contact that shop which you reinstalled Windows 7 see if there's any change.

  • I agree, it is a malware.
    So:
    1) Remove malware from your computer - use some recovery CD with antivirus
    2) In registry, find (using registry editor) following keys:

     HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
     HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
     HKEY_USERS\.default\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System

If you find there DisableTaskMgr, remove it.

Many malware usualy disables registry editor, too. In that case I recommend you to use some recovery DVD or installation DVD - or ask some technician to remove malware and recover your system.

  • You need to go back to the shop that reinstalled Windows 7; they messed up.  Make sure your "reinstall" is genuine.  Hmmmm.
