how to how to degrade windows 2008 to win 2003 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have a win 2008 Entrp Edition. It's key is activated.

I want to degrade it to win 2003.

    What is the procedure?

I dont't have any data on it.

As win 2008 does not support to Auto Loader I want to down grade it.

  • Hello Harish,

Try installing a Windows 2003 Additional Domain Controller in a Existing Windows 2008 infrastructure then transfer all the fsmo roles to the new Addtional Windows 2003 Domain Controller and then demote Windows 2008 DC this the only thing you can do.

    Thanks

  • hi there,

After installation of windows 2008 , i am not aware of automatic degrade of OS, unless you re-image it or install windows 2003 server.

and how is auto loader related with installation or uninstallation ?

  • hi there,

    please check the following link

    Additional info

Microsoft's documentation is sketchy on how you obtain Volume License Keys
for products when you are using Downgrade Rights to install an earlier
    version.

The documentation out there says to contact "Microsoft Fulfillment Services"
for your region. If you Google that phase you'll get nowhere. What is
should really say is contact the "Microsoft Activation Center" and request
a Volume License Key for you product.

This is the number for the center in the US region (888) 352-7140

You will need the Agreement number and License number (not the license key)
from your original product to get a downgrade license sent to you.
