  • Hi

Yesterday a very strange problem occured at my company. Suddely serveral people contacted IT-support with the problen that they couldnt click on any linka on website, when they did that nothing happend. And when they tried to do a right click nothing happend either. And when thet tried to rebott the computer the problem still exits. But when i admin loggs on and off the client, and the user logs in after all works fine.

We use win xp sp3 and win server 2003 with AD.

Have some one off you herad about this problem before?

  • I experienced similiar issues some time ago.

I can't remember exactly what fixed it in the end (I think reregistering the dll's did the trick) but the key was in the MS articles:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/281679
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/175775

    hope this helps,

The problem is still alive.  And the qiuck fix that was to let and admin login and off works. But it also works when a different normal user logs in and off. Then when i affected user logs in again all is ok.

So does anybody know what the problem might be?

  • what kind of profiles are used on the network? roaming/mandatory? are the profiles stored on a central location?

also i assume its a domain infrastructure.

logon as a standard user locally on one or more of the pcs and see if this occurs.

if it doesn't, then it means u should review domain group policies.Find out if there's any newly implemented policy that could be related to user profiles.

  • We have a domain infrastructure.

And i have done a test wiyh a user who i have added to a empty OU. So the user dont get any user GPOs. But the problem is still there.
