  • Hello,

first of all, hosting websites on a DC is highly not recommanded.

I recommand that you use another server to perform that. Even if you don't have, I recommand that you buy a new one.

Also, even if you want to deploy your Website on a DC, you will have multiple IP addresses on the DC which is not recommanded as it may cause DNS resolution problem => AD problems.

So, you can use multiple NIC cards (One for the DC and the others for the websites) and disable NetBIOS over TCP/IP or DNS registration on the other cards.

Once done, create your zones and create www A records for your web sites.

  • Hi,

For some security reasons, it is not recommended to host web service on a domain controller, multihomed Domain Controllers will cause numerous issues, it's highly recommended to single-home domain controller and use a non-DC for multihoming purposes.

To host multiple Web sites on a single Web server, you need to configure a unique identity for each Web site by using one of three methods:

    1. Port-Based Routing
    2. IP-Based Routing
    3. Host-Header Routing

  • Hi,

Each web site must have unique IP ADDRESS that is different from the dns server and register the site name with the ip address eg:1. www.site1.com  10.10.0.10

    2. www.site2.com 10.20.0.20

    3.dns ip address 10.30.0.30

the clients should resolve from dns and make sure that dns is not listning on the NIC's configured for sites.

    Regards,
