converting an ISO download RRS feed

  • Question

  • DVD burning SW must have the ability to convert the ISO file to the files for installing VISTA. I had the same problem and downloaded a 15 day trial sw for converting iso downloads to the proper file format and burn it to a DVD.

  • Try using a freeware program to mount the iso in a virtual cd rom drive. I used magic iso from download.com.

After installing the program mount the iso file in the virtual cd rom drive.

Open my computer and you will have a new cd rom drive (the virtual drive) and if you open it the vista setup files will appear as though you burned the dvd to a new disc and opened it in your regular drive.

I copied all of the files to my second hard drive and then clicked on the setup program from within windows xp. Unfortunetly vista refuses to give me the 'upgrade' option and so I must do a new install every time.

    I hope this helps.
