So, what is the latest on Windows 7 Support? RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I've been checking periodically to see if Microsoft has changed its stance on Windows 7 support in SteadyState and so far there has not been any news.  Outside of postings by Sean Zhu saying that it isn't supported now but they are "... collecting specific feedback.." to make the case for supporting Windows 7.  Some of these date back a couple of months, with all sorts of people voicing that they not only want, but NEED SteadyState to support Windows 7.

So, were do things stand?  Do I continue to drag my feet, milking Windows XP or do I switch to DeepFreeze so I can deploy Windows 7?

  • Yes,
Inquiring minds want to know. I'm already using Deep Freeze but I use SS to lock down profiles. If Windows 7 support isn't coming, I'll have to look into buying Faronics product WinSelect to lock down the profiles in Windows 7
