USMT and migdocs.xml issue

    Pregunta

  • I am sure that I am do something really simply wrong, but I haven't been able to use scanstate properly.   I am running this command.

    \\SERVER\deploymentshare$\Tools\x64\USMT5\scanstate.exe \\bbwds01\deploymentshare$\MigData i/:migdocs.xml /i:migapp.xml /ui:DOMAIN\* /uel:60 /o /l:\\SERVER\deploymentshare$\MigData\scan.log

    and this is what I get back.

    An error occurred processing the command line.

    Failed.[gle=0x00000002]
    An error occurred processing the command line.
      \\SERVER\deploymentshare$\Tools\x64\USMT5\scanstate.exe \\SERVER\deploymentshare$\MigData ##ERROR## --> i/:migdocs.xml /i:migapp.xml /ui:DOMAIN\* /uel:60 /o /l:\\SERVER\deploymentshare$\MigData\scan.log
      Settings store argument specified is invalid[gle=0x00000002]

    When I drop i/:migdocs.xml /i:migapp.xml and run

    \\SERVER\deploymentshare$\Tools\x64\USMT5\scanstate.exe \\bbwds01\deploymentshare$\MigData /ui:DOMAIN\* /uel:60 /o /l:\\SERVER\deploymentshare$\MigData\scan.log

    It runs without a problem, but of course since I took migdoc and migapp out it's not really migrating anything.  I haven't changed either of the xmls, but I am sure there is something I am missing.

  • Hi,

    Please try to use /i:migdocs.xml /i:migapp.xml (not i/:migdocs.xml /i:migapp.xml )in your command.
