Split Domain in exchange 2007 RRS feed

  • Is possible to configure Split Domain in exchange 2007??? see this URL, http://www.mwsite.net/blogmw/archive/2007/07/31/236.aspx , here configure split domain with Exchange 2000 but I like to configure this with exchange 2007, is possible ?

  • Yes it's possible, you must to do this:

     

    - In Exchange you must to have 2 domains, for example: domain.local as autoritative and another internetdomain.com as external relay.

    With this Exchange don't manage all email sended to @internetdomain.com

    You must to change all recipients disabling the option "Update recipients with e-mail address policy" and setting up manually e-mail address and default address for all users like username@internetdomain.com (you can do it with powershell script).

     

    - In your exchange Server, you must to create a Send Connector to router all e-mail to @internetdomain.com to your other server using the option smarthost.

     

    - In your other mail server (I think that this server is not Exchange Server) you must to route all not local addresses in these server to your Exchange Server.

     

    - All the other internet Mail you must to route with MX registers.
