WSUS takes long to Synchronize

  • Hello,

    Am installing WSUS on a Win server 2012. We only accept 1 languages.

    on Synchronizing, takes long time and no error displays or does not stop!!.

    The initial synchronization may take several hours. I believe this fact is documented.

    Synchronization involves the WSUS server contacting Microsoft Update. After making contact, WSUS determines if any new updates have been made available since the last time you synchronized. If this is the first time you are synchronizing the WSUS server, all of the updates are available and are ready for your approval for installation. The first synchronization on a WSUS server will generally take a long time.

    This may also be related to your network performance, such as network bandwidth.

  • But how many Items from Products list have you selected. Couple of days before I setup new WSUS  and accidently I left Office Products checked and it took long time to complete.

    Check your product list and uncheck which ones are not required.
