Migration Stuck at syncing when migrating to O365 RRS feed

  • I have started migrating a batch of single user(35GB) of size, after the migration reached 8 GB, i was stuck in Syncing state for almost 4 hours now.

    Provide a solution.

    I'd let it ride. Lots of items can take a long time.

    What does Get-MoveRequestStatistics <user> |FL show ?

    I am running batch from O365 admin portal.

    There are no errors in Users report. The user has archive enabled

    Yes, connect to Exchange Online Powershell to run this.

    I would cancel the batch and try to migrate from powershell see if that works out:

    There is no data loss if you pause, stop, resume or remove a move request or batch migration.

    Stop-MigrationBatch -Identity MigrationBatch1

  • After we stopped and Resumed the Bath, for sometime it was in Starting state then it went Syncing State. Till now its in Syncing state. and the statusDetail is 

    Status          : InProgress
    StatusDetail : StalledDueToSource_UnknownReason

    After we ran this command, 

    Get-MigrationUser -BatchId "BatchName" | Get-MigrationUserStatistics

    The Status shows Syncing.

    I got this working by below:-

    1. Asked MS to relax throttling limits. Initially I thought it'd be unnecessary for such small number of mailboxes.

    2. By running below on on-prem:

    New-ThrottlingPolicy MigrationO365Policy
    
    Set-ThrottlingPolicy MigrationO365Policy -RCAMaxConcurrency Unlimited -EWSMaxConcurrency Unlimited -EWSMaxSubscriptions Unlimited -CPAMaxConcurrency Unlimited -EwsCutoffBalance Unlimited -EwsMaxBurst Unlimited -EwsRechargeRate Unlimited
    
    Get-Mailbox | Set-Mailbox -ThrottlingPolicy MigrationO365Policy

    <<<<<<

    I'll let you know once the status changes.

    Do i need to Stop the batch and resume it after i set the throttling policy? or should delete the batch and create a new one?

    Any updates about your migration? We can just stop and resume it, however, if the migration still stuck, we may need to create a new one and verify the result again.
