Exchange Management Console - Initialization failed

    Question

  • Hi, we have a new (4 months old) Exchange 2010 that now will no load the EMC.  For the 1st few weeks it did load on the server without issue.

We have installed EMC on another computer and this does connect to the organisation.  It just fails on the Exchange server itself.

The WinRM IIS Extension is installed now as I read this in another article.

    The error on EMC is:

The following error occurred while attempting to connect to the specified Exchange server 'gsi-exc-01.gordanoschool.internal'

The attempt to connect to http://gsi-exc-01.gordanoschool.internal/powershell using 'kerberos' authentication failed: Connecting to remote server failed with the following error message: the connection to the specified remote host was refused.  Verify that the WS-Management service is running on the remote host and configured to listen for requests on the correct port.

    Any ideas

    Phil

Answers

  • Hi,

Please clarify if you have other web application installed on the IIS server, such as sharepoint.

Please verify if you have proxy configured in IE. You can use "netsh winhttp show proxy" to check it.

  • Hi I have run the management console troubleshooter using the powershell.

It did not return any specific errors:  This is the output from the EMTshooter.ps1
