Help transport rules

    Question

  • Hi,

i want to create a transport rule/rules that does following:

    - block all attachments except pdf files

    - selected email adresses white listed to send excel , word and txt files

currently i made a rule to block excel, word and txt with exception selected email adresses. This rule is not correct as they can send any other thing.

    regards,

  • Create the rule:

    • Apply this rule if > Any attachment is greater than or equal to, 0 KB
    • Do the following > Block the message delete the message without notifying anyone
    • add exception > Except if... Any attachment file extension includes these words "pdf"

    Create the rule:

    • Apply this rule if > Any attachment's file extension matches file extension includes these words "xls", "xlsx", "doc", "docx", "txt
    • add condition > Apply this rule if > The recipient is a member of this group > add the group
    • Do the following > Set a message header > Set the message header "AttachmentAllowed" to the value "Member of group"  (This just does something harmless.)

Set the priority of the second rule higher than the first rule.
