Exchange 2007: The microsoft exchange transport service hung on starting eventid 7022

When I reboot our Exchange standard 2007 server, i get that error.. The computer gets stuck at Applying Settings for at least 10 or 15 minutes.. then that event id shows up..

I cant find any info regarding how to fix this issue (all works after it gets going though)..

    Anyone have any ideas?

  • The only other clue i have is an event id : 10010 (dcom) a bunch of minutes before this:

The server {C4EBD674-1457-4B79-BE30-B04735AED9D1} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.

  • I have the same issue.  When I try to start the Exchange Transport Service, I get the following:

Windows could not start the Microsoft Exchange Transport service on Local Computer.

Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

Tried rebooting twice, but same results so far.

I have another Transport server without this issue.  Comparing settings now...

    Same settings.

My server is CAS/Hub, so I uninstalled just the Hub role, reboot, and reinstalled Hub role.Transport service still does not start.

I uninstalled Exchange 2007 completely.  Renamed the computer, rebooted, renamed the computer back to its original name, rebooted.  Installed CAS/Hub roles and voila!!!  Transport service is running now.
