Is Sysadmin permission needed in MDS after configuration ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • In MDS documentation it is that sysadmin permission is needed in  MDS Configuration Manager:
           Accounts and Permissions
In Master Data Services Configuration Manager, you can use a Windows account or a SQL Server account to connect to the Database Engine instance  of SQL Server to host the Master Data Services database. The user account must belong to the sysadmin server role on the instance of SQL Server Database Engine. For more information about the sysadmin role, see Server-Level Roles.

Is this permission needed after installation / configuration is done and can it be removed ?

Is i use my personal account to configure Database in  Master Data Services Configuration Manager and a service account for Web config/ application pool. Is sysadmin permission needed for both account on MSSQL  ?

ON https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/master-data-services/folder-and-file-permissions-master-data-services?view=sql-server-2017, the MDS_ServiceAccounts described to have Explicit Permissions, is it same as account specifed in  account for Web config/ application pool ?
