It may caused by the corrupted components and service, it is suggested that you can perform a in-place upgrade so that  it will replace the corrupted components. In addition, your personal data will not be removed during the in-place upgrade process.

  • Hi,

    To make the problems clear:

1.Do you mean you always logon with a temporary account automatically?

2.Which type of user profile you used? Local or Roaming?

3.Do you mean when you logged on , the explorer can't be opened properly?

It is suggested that you back up your files firstly and delete the user profile in System Advanced settings. Then reboot your pc. If you are using roaming profile, it is necessary to delete the user profile both on Server and Client.

  • Well i did delete my nt user files becouse i could not log on id would say welcome and then for what like 2.5 sec my desktop and then log back off again so i figured those where corupted so i deleted them then id did log on but to temp acc.

btw its a local acc. So i used the nt userfiles of this acc. And use it jn my real acc it worked to a certain extend then I realised that even with my temp fix (see initial question) i cant install w.u. updates explore DOES start but DOES NOT give me the required permission (see inital question for pop up) only after i use cmd to restart explorer i can use my acc this applies to every thing including internet con. Though my shortcuts and programs on my desktop work is there a fix to this and do you need screen pictures?

  • Hi,

What if you change an account to login or create a new account in Control Panel-User Accounts-Manage Accounts-create a new account.

You can add the account to the Administrator group and run sfc /scannow in cmd to fix the corrupted system components. In addition, you can check the Event Viewer-Windows Logs-System to see if there is any errors there.

  • Hi,

Open Control Panel-Accounts-Manage other accounts-create a new account

Then log off and logon with the new account to see if you can access Explorer.

  • Hi,

You just reinstalled the system on your computer, but kept all of your old applications, settings and preferences. The in-place upgrade replaces all of the OS files, including corrupted ones , leaves everything else intact.

Thanks for you support and patience.

If you have any other problems, welcome to Technet Forum again. We are always glad to help you.
