Exchange 2013 CU2 Installation Problem RRS feed

  • Hi...

    When try install the CU2 on my Exchange Server receive the next Error...

    Fatal error during installation. Error code is 1603. Last error reported by the MSI package is 'Unable to install because a previous Interim Update for Exchange Server 2013 Cumulative Update 1 has been installed.  Please use Add/Remove Programs to uninstall the Interim Update before running this setup again.'

    If try uninstall the CU1 the process show this error...

  • you need to remove the interim update as stated in the error and what Ed already suggested.

    Did you run the install from an elevated prompt?

    In the last problem I'm use the GUI Installer, because try with your response and the problem persist...

  • Funny thing is that it isn't an interim update...

    I've also encountered this and fixed it by uninstalling this update. You might have to manually start services, if they haven't started. That took some time to figure out. I've blogged about my situation here.

  • I try uninstall KB2874216. But after running wizard it just closed and nothing happens. In Safe mode "installed update" not available.

    How i can correct remove this update and then install CU2 ? Thank you!

  • You'll have to check for disabled services and start them. I think Remote Registry and some others are neccessary for uninstalling. Compare with a reference server to be sure. Your Exchange services are probably also disabled (maybe not all).

  • I think Remote Registry and some others are neccessary for uninstalling.

    Remote Registry was Disabled. Change to manual, and run - then i can uninstall KB. And after service Remote Registry self changes back to Disabled state.
