Outlook 2007 Cannot download Exchange 2010 Offline Address Book RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We just are migrating Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010 and then will migrate to Exchange 2013. We found Outlook 2007 SP3 Client unable to download Offline Address book in cache mode from Exchange 2010. But Outlook 2010 can download the OAB from Exchange 2010 Server.

When I click download offline address book, it show "TASK 'Microsoft Exchange' reported error (0x800410F) : 'The operation failed. An object cannot be found.

We patched all update to PC and Office 2007 but still encounter problem.

Anyone can suggest solution to me and what my problem in Exchange Server 2010.

    Thanks a lot

    Keith

  • Hi,

According to your description, I understand Outlook 2007 client cannot download OAB with error “TASK 'Microsoft Exchange' reported error (0x800410F) : 'The operation failed. An object cannot be found”, however Outlook 2010 client works fine.
If I misunderstand your concern, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Please run Test E-mail AutoConfiguration and Outlook Connect status to ensure get correct URL and connection with Exchange server.
Then run Get-OfflineAddressBook | FL Identity,Server to confirm the OAB generation server, you can try to move OAB generation server to Exchange 2013 server for testing.

    Thanks

All replies

    • Can you Re-confirm issue is Outlook Version specific or User specific.
    • Can you verify that user database has Offline address book assigned.
    • Can you configure the working user on Outlook 2007 to confirm.
    • Verify BITS (Background intelligent file transfer service) is started in the client machine.
