Postmaster when exchange hosts multiple domains RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello, i am running exchange 2010 and accepting multiple domains (a.com and b.com).

b.com wants a postmaster account but i need to make sure they only get b.com and not a.com.  Is this possible?

  • Hi,

Do you mean you want the postmaster just have account postmaster@b.com?

Looks like you can use the cmdlets to customize it:

    Set-TransportConfig -ExternalPostmasterAddress postmaster@contoso.com

Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.

Provided you have a different domain for each, you can have an
unlimited number of SMTP addresses with the user "postmaster".

  • Victor,

I saw this, but was wondering if there was a built in/free option.

Rich, I am taking about postmaster in the sense that it will dump everything into the postmaster box that it doesnt have an email for...

    Thank you,
