  • Hello Technical Team,

    I have a Windows Server 2019 running Hyper-V with two host. One is Windows Server 2019 Domain Controller and another is CentOS. It is ok when I take a backup of CentOS host. Windows Server 2019 host throwing error. "Backup succeeded but some components backup up were inconsistent in the snapshot. The application this component belongs to might not function properly after this backup is used for recovery." Below is the error log:

  • Hi,

    1.If you have checkpoints in your vm, please merge them first.

    2.Please make sure your host and vm have been installed the latest update and make sure there is no AV software or other 3rd backup tools in your server.

    3.Try to re-install WSB feature to see the result

    4.Run vssadmin list writers and publish your result in here.

    5.If you backup your VM from its host, you can try to backup from itself.

    6.Check if there is any error message in Event Viewer.

    1. There is no checkpoints

    2. updates are up to date in host and vm.

    3. I have reinstalled the WSB feature.

    4. vssadmin list writers result:

    5. You mean, taking a backup from VM itself?

    6. Event Viewer Error: Is it related to this issue?
