ADR Rules failed Migration, does not show up in Console, but RuleEngine keeps attempting to run them RRS feed

  • Question

  • So my ADR rules failed Migration to a new site server.

They do not show in the Site System Console, but they keep executing when the RuleEngine runs, and triggers alerts in my console.

How can I clean these items up?

  • Hi,

You may try to run the powershell command to see if you can get the ADR:
    Get-CMSoftwareUpdateAutoDeploymentRule -Fast

If you can get it, you may run Remove-CMSoftwareUpdateAutoDeploymentRule -Name"xxxxxx" to remove the ADR.
    For the details:

  • Sadly that doesn't populate the ADR rule.

  • Hi,

How does it fail when you do the migration? We may check the migmctrl.log file in the <InstallationPath>\LOGS folder on the site server for more details.

  • So it actually looks like the rules did migrate, I see they were inserted into the SQL database via  migmctrl.log, there is not any logging showing why they fail to show in SCCM console, I was able to find them in my site database under CM_XXX > dbo.Rules.

The object ID`s under the console migration objects do not show under migmctrl.log so it looks like due to the amount of objects that was truncated.

Any idea if dbo.Rules is the only database that would contain these objects, or would I need to search every dbo to remove these rules that do not show up. I can easily recreate the, since they are just update rules per windows release.
