Setup.com /preparead does not create Federatedemail and Systemmailbox users RRS feed

  • Question

  • I needed to remove Federatedemail and Systemmailbox users due to being associated with a dead exchange server.  When I try to create them using setup.com /preparead all I get is (below) and users are not created.

  • Hi Guags13,
I think you just started CMD and ran setup.com /preparead

What you need to do is to run it from the Exchange 2010 SP1 installation files.
Copy them to the local disk, start CMD with elevated privilates and run the setup.com /preparead from there

That should create the missing arbitration mailboxes.

  • Yes both mailbox and user are deleted.  In your link it says to run Setup.com /PrepareAD and that does not recreate the users or mailboxes.

  • Sorry...I had a long weekend.  It appears Martina may be right as it does try to go though a "setup" now that I run it from the installation directory.  But my server needs to be shutdown due to some updates and I have to wait until tonight.  I will update this thread tomorrow.

    Thanks
