    Question

  • this is the command i used:

    New-MailboxRestoreRequest -SourceDatabase NR -SourceStoreMailbox 542c5699-7fef-41e2-9f01-ddb919c25b1d -TargetMailbox "USERMAILBOX" -TargetRootFolder "TARGET FOLDER" -AllowLegacyDNMismatch

    Name                                           TargetMailbox                                  Status
    ----                                           -------------                                  ------
    MailboxRestore3                               contoso.com/Region Canada -  ... Queued
    MailboxRestore2                               contoso.com/Region Canada -  ... Queued
    MailboxRestore1                               contoso.com/Region Canada  - ... Queued

    My request never get past this stage they have been queued for over 24hours haven't been able to find a way to force it to go. I've also checked in EMC and the request are not listed in there either

    From this issue, I suggest you follow these steps to troubleshoot the problem:

     

    1.       Use Remove-MailboxRestoreRequest to remove all the requests.

    2.       Restart Microsoft Information store service and create new MailboxRestoreRquest to check this issue will occur or not?

    3.       If the issue persists, please check the event log and paste the related information in your next post.

  • It happened with me when the recovery database (RDB) is dismounted. Once I mounted RDB, the mailbox restoring process started.

  • I'm guessing all restore requests queue by default and don't start until asked to do so.

    The following command worked for me:

    Get-MailboxRestoreRequest | Resume-MailboxRestoreRequest
