    To our SteadyState Community, thank you so much for blogging about SteadyState, posting pod-casts, and even dedicating chapters about SteadyState in your books. SteadyState is now on Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SteadyState Please feel free to add more!

     

    Because of your on-going support and word of month, we have reached 1 million downloads between Shared Computer Toolkit (v1) and SteadyState (v2).

     

    Totaling 1 Millions downloads on Genuine Windows XP, SteadyState V1 and V2 has provided shared access administrators and users in schools, community centers, libraries, and Internet cafés with a great Windows computing experience.

    You're exactly right. Version 1 is the Shared Toolkit. With version 2 the name was changed to Windows SteadyState.

    You're exactly right. Version 1 is the Shared Toolkit. With version 2 the name was changed to Windows SteadyState.

  • Sorry for replying later here. That is great to hear that Windows steadystate has completed the huge milestone. But why they not updated it to support the latest version of Windows like 7 and 8? Because of it phased out, we were using Deep Freeze software in school's computer lab. It is like a Windows Steadystate providing more advanced features like MBR protection, kernel level reboot to restore etc. We liked it. Though it is not free but worth to spend the money on it as it is concerned with system security.
