(1053)Cannot start Exchange Information Store

    Question

  • Hi all,

I'm trying to find the answer to "Error 1053 The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion."

    SBS 2003 Standard

    Exchange 2003

    2 x 3.0Ghz

    4 Gig RAM

Did an update yesterday and when the system rebooted Exchange Information Store service would not start. I am assuming that because it was working before the update that the update is the cause of the problem.

The update that I believe could be the problem is:

Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 - Device Update 4.0

    Has anyone heard of this?

I have been searching for relevant information but with no success.

Hoping someone might be able to help me out!

Meanwhile, please apply the latest service pack for Exchange 2003.

Service Pack 2 for Exchange Server 2003

Besides, please check application log to see whether any event related to AD or DNS and post them here if the problem still persist.

    Hope it helps.
