Alert is not working on Shared Calendar -- Outlook 2007 RRS feed

  • At our office we have 7 computers and we all share the brokers calendar (1) as a shared calendar. However we do not get the pop/reminders 15 mins before an event.

    We are using the Exchange Server through go daddy, and we just need help to get the reminders not only on our computer but also on our mobile (droid phones)

  • There are two ways to solve your problem:

    1.  Log on directly to the shared calendar's mailbox, if it is a mailbox.  I don't recommend this option because your own calendar reminders and a lot of  other stuff will no longer work.

    2.  Quit using a shared calendar for this purpose.  Instead, put all seven of you in a distribution group, and invite that distribution group to events that would otherwise be on the shared calendar.

  • The other way is to send a meeting request to the shared calendar and add the recipients in that meeting request also. This will generate a reminder.
