SCOM SNMP Requirements

Question
-
Hi All,
I have a requirement to send SCOM 2016 alerts to Solarwinds . I knew there is an MP to send Solarwinds alerts to SCOM but not the viceversa . I need to know whether we can achieve it.
One more requirement is to receive SNMP traps from other sources like HW Monitoring tools,Storage and Backup tools to SCOM 2016 to have a single unified view . Can SCOM 2016 support receiving SNMP from devices which are actually not a Network devices. if so how we can achieve it.
I would appreciate if you can provide your inputs here

Hi,
You can develop a custom connector by using the Operations Manager Connector Framework (OMCF). The OMCF provides methods and types that you can use to initialize and manage a connector and to get or send operations data.

In order to receive device SNMP trap, SCOM need to create a device instance on SCOM system. In order words, your device should be disovery by using SNMP probe. If devices that only sent traps, but are not query-able via SNMP GET requests, you should refer to Kevin Holman's Blog, Alerting on SNMP traps in SCOM – Without discovering the SNMP Device.
