Autodiscover

    问题

  • Hello!

I have an exchange 2010 server running on the url https://mail.rphproductions.co.uk with a valid ssl that i brought but the autodiscover test fails and says it is looking at either rphproductions.co.uk or autodiscover.rphproductions.co.uk. I have set up autodiscover.rphproductions.co.uk but i cannot buy another ssl.

Can anyone help me with this as any downtime that has to happen it can only happen today.

    Thanks

    Rhys

  • I see that you have setup auto-discover but the certificate used is for mail.rphproductions.co.uk

    https://mail.rphproductions.co.uk/Autodiscover/autodiscover.xml

Ideally, the SSL certificate you purchased should have subject alternative name included for autodiscover.rphproductions.co.uk, which got missed. Lets see if our friends here have any suggestion to get this fixed.

  • Refer the below technet page which explains on a single certificate with all subject alternative name.

  • To my knowledge, Auto-discover site cannot be customized.

The Autodiscover service URL will be either https://<smtp-address-domain>/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml or https://autodiscover.<smtp-address-domain>/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml, where ://<smtp-address-domain> is the primary SMTP domain address.

  • If you look on testexchangeconnectivity it looks to see if there is a redirect on rphproductions.co.uk or autodiscover.rphproductions.co.uk

Do you know how to resolve my problem?

  • From my view point, If you can get the existing certificate amended with SAN names, it should work. Or you should go for a fresh certificate. I am not aware of putting redirection over web-mail link. Lets see if any of our friends in this forum has any suggestions.

    Good luck !

  • Thats not what im asking. What im asking is how do I solve "A Web exception occurred because an HTTP 405 - MethodNotAllowed response was received from Unknown."

  • You can use a single name SSL certificate for autodiscover IF your DNS provider supports SRV records.

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940881

If they do not, then you will have to change the SSL certificate for Unified Communicatiosn certificate. Suitable certificates can be purchased for less than US$80/year from https://certificatesforexchange.com/

The reason you are getting the error is because of the redirections you have made. That method isn't going to work correctly. Autodiscover works in fixed methods only, on fixed URLs. Undo all of the redirections during the test phase.

  • Yes sorry!

I have set up a redirect on rphproductions.co.uk/autodiscover to mail.rphproductions.co.uk/autodiscover but am still getting A Web exception occurred because an HTTP 405 - MethodNotAllowed response was received from Unknown.

    Any ideas?

  • I have set up a redirect on rphproductions.co.uk/autodiscover to mail.rphproductions.co.uk/autodiscover but am still getting A Web exception occurred because an HTTP 405 - MethodNotAllowed response was received from Unknown.

By the way, do you configure HTTP Redirection for Autodiscover according to the link http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff923256.aspx ?

'4. Configure HTTP Redirection for Autodiscover.

    a. In the console tree, click on the Autodiscover virtual directory. In the results pane double-click on HTTP Redirect.

    b. Click the Redirect requests to this destination checkbox.

    c. Type the autodiscover redirection address. For example, https://mail.contoso.com/autodiscover. This address will match the ExternalURL that you will use in configuring Client Access servers to handle the Autodiscover requests.'

If yes, please change https://mail.contoso.com/autodiscover to https://mail.contoso.com/autodiscover/Autodiscover.XML in the above c step and then check the result.

Hope it helps. If the issue still occurs, please let us know.

    Thanks
