Sharepoint Server 2010 Document library - Cannot open office documents when accessing via UMG on Mac Client RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi ,

When trying to access a document library location externally (https through TMG) , we get an error "This address is not valid". Not sure as to why this will be an issue. Please note this only specific to MAC Clients for Office document. PDF, Img, and any other format opens just fine.

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Thanks

  • Hi,

I'm a bit confused whether you have an issue with a Sharepoint installation publish using UAG or TMG.

If we talk about UAG, UAG have specific download/upload policies depending on the device (Windows, Mac, Other) you are using. If you try to open a Sharepoint published ressource from a Mac you may get an access denied message.

Please read this article about Endpoint:

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd897093.aspx

You should try modifying the access policy for the Mac clients.

    Open the UAG console.

    1. Select the specifik trunk that allows access to Sharepoint, open the Endpoint Access Settings tab, and click Edit Endpoint Policies.
    2. In the Manage Policies and Expressions list, click Default Session Access, and then click Edit Policy.
    3. Select the Manage MAC os policies
