manually set exclusions for .ost files for all users

  • Hi all,

Working with Microsoft support on Outlook crashing, the engineer says:

Could you kindly find out if the .OST files and .ost.tmp files have been added to the anti-virus exclusions list on all user machines, as this is what we strongly recommend.

Would you know how we could set that exclusion for all our windows 7 machines using a GPO ?

Ost files are all located under "C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook"

I've found that key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Forefront\Client Security\1.0\AM\Exclusions, but not sure how to set the wilcard for the %Username% level + exclusion based on file extension :(

    thanks in advance
