Error Code: 502 Proxy Error


  • I m trying to allow access to a ftp website for my users.

    but this is the error message i get from my TMG 2010.

    • Error Code: 502 Proxy Error. Forefront TMG denied the specified Uniform Resource Locator (URL). (12202)
    • IP Address:
    • Date: 9/6/2011 6:05:18 AM [GMT]
    • Server: tmg2010.domain.corp
    • Source: proxy


    the access is created under allow web access for all users -

    allow FTP, HTTP

    From - internal

    To - external,

    Conditions - all users.

    is my access rule correct ?

  • Try enable logging. Do the packets match the rule?

    Try FTP over HTTP to add in same condition from INTERNAL -> to EXTERNAL -> ALL USERS.

    Also check yours FTP SERVER and services. I try to access to but nothing.

    Later i try to access to the and i see authentication for this (Username and Password).

  • the ftp server do not belong to my organization.

    no issue with the ftp site if i do not use my company proxy. eg mobile boardband.

    If you log on to the FTP server by including a user name and a password in the URL. Use this format: ftp://User_Name:Password@FTP_Server, does it work?
