You can easily do this by modifying the Task Sequence. I give you an example
1. Go into your deployment share on "Deployment$\Scripts" and create a file named DiskPartOnlyC.txt then insert the following contents into it:
SELECT disk 0
SELECT partition 1 <--- choose the correct number
FORMAT FS=NTFS LABEL="OS" QUICK
EXIT
2. Modify the Task Sequence or create a new one and choose the OS to install
3. Under Preinstall\New Computer Only, delete or disable "Format and Partition Disk".
4. Still under New Computer Only, create a command line action by clicking "Add" at the top then "General", then "Run Command Line". Rename it to "Custom C Format" and input the following command:
diskpart /s "%scriptroot%\DiskPartOnlyC.txt"
5. Move it between "Validate" and "Copy scripts".
6. Click on "Install Operating System" under "Install" and configure the target partition as Disk 0 Partition 1: <-- choose the correct one.
Remember to always do some tests before if you need to adjust some settings.
Another way is to:
1. remove the “Format and Partition Disk” step
2. in the “Apply Operating System Image” step, under “Select the location where you want to apply this operating system” made the following modifications:
Destination: Specific disk and partition
Disk: 0 (if all computers are installed on first hard disk)
Partition: 1 (if all computers have OS installed on first partition)
This way, when TS runs, it automatically wipes partition 1 from disk 0 and will not touch any other partition or disk.
