    Question

  • Hi!

    I have a question

<g class="gr_ gr_40 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling ins-del" data-gr-id="40" id="40">Meta data</g> navigation in Search Results page (like you enable it on doc library, but need same for search results across site collections   )

    how to implement? Best practices?

  • you need to implement a site crawl, also the default search feature is pretty basic.

if you search for 'pap' you will not get anything named 'papa' you have to regex the search function to make it not suck a bag of dongs.

  • I need custom refiners - <g class="gr_ gr_26 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling ins-del" data-gr-id="26" id="26">meta data</g> navigation based on term set. <g class="gr_ gr_83 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Grammar only-ins replaceWithoutSep" data-gr-id="83" id="83">similar</g> functionality you can get if you enable metadata navigation on doc library settings

  • Hi Eriks,

You can start a crawl for your content source, after finishing, create a managed property which is searchable, refinable, restrievable, then map all crawled properties which are connected to the related metadata columns across site collections into it.

After the above, start a full crawl. After finishing, go to your Search Center and edit Search result page, then edit Refinement web part then add the managed property as a refiner.

    Thanks,

    Wendy
