Sql connection RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, Im trying to connect remotely to my sql server on a different computer. On computer 'A' i have sql 2008 express R2, thats the server i want to connect to.  On computer 'B' im also using sql 2008 express R2 to connect to computer 'A'.  For "server type" i select Database Engine, Server name i put "IP adress\SQLEXPRESS"  and then i select sql authentification and put in the user name and password that is already been added on computer 'A'.

The problem is it wont let me connect, keep saying somthin about wrong with the network or it might not exist or not accisble and might not allow remote access.  Ive also set the firewall on computer 'A' to allow port 1433 and 1434 and enable TCP/IP in the sql configuration.  Any ideas??
