  I want to transfer my windows 2003 terminal licences CAL to a new server. How can I do it if I don't have my licences keys ?

  If you don't have your licences keys, I think that you should proceed like that:

  1- Perform a full backup on your server

  2- Install windows 2003 on the new server

  3- Restore the performed backup on the new server

  4- Keep offline your old server

  It is recommanded that the new server has the same hardware components as the old one.

  Hello,

  You need to call Microsoft to activate CAL in your new server. You got the Microsoft KB here .

  If you don't have any licence key then you'll have some difficults. It's like the joke "no arms, no chocolate".

  Just for info, you are in French forum.

  En français :

  Arrêter le service de gestion de licence TS sur l'ancien serveur.

  Installer le service de licence TS sur le nouveau serveur dans le même répertoire que l'ancien serveur (ex : c:\windows\lserver) et avec le même rôle (serveur de domaine ou serveur d'entreprise). Activer le nouveau serveur de licence

  Arrêter le service de licence sur le nouveau serveur

  copie le dossier lserver de l'ancien serveur sur le nouveau

  Démarrer le service de gestion de licence TS sur le nouveau serveur.

  Stop terminal services Licensing on the old server.

  Install terminal services licencing on the new server in the same directory (c:\windows\lserver) with the same role (domain server or enterprise server). Activate the new terminal services licensing server

  Stop terminal services Licensing on the new server

  copy the folder lserver from the old server on the new server

  Start terminal services licensing on the new server

  C'est bien plus simple que la restauration de l'état du système .....
