Lync 2010 will not fully move to new file store location.

  • We are moving the file store location to a new server.  The file store is still available on the old server.  Followed the steps many times in the article below.  Also ran step 2 in the deployment wizard many times.  Currently we have both the old file store and the new file store still shared out.  The new file store is in use by Lync and I can see files\directories getting created.  The problem is on the old file store I can see the front end server still connecting to <OldfileStoreServer>\1-ArchivingServer-1\DataConf and updating directories and an ArchivingStoreHealth.File.  Looking at the topology everthing is pointed to the new file store and published.  Something is still "stuck" using the old file store.  I assume this directory is used for archiving and would like to know how to switch it to the new file store. Thanks.

  • Hi

Have you moved your conference directories?

After you have associated to the new file store you will need to run Move-CsConferenceDirectory?

You will need to get the ID of the old filestore first using Get-CsConferenceDirectory

    Then Move-CsConferencingDirectory -Identity 3 -TargetPool

This should stop the FE looking for legacy files on the old store and then you can remove it from the topology

  • Not exactly sure of the fix but after running step 2 many times and restarting the Lync Server Web Conferencing and Lync Server Web Conferencing Compatibility services its finally using the correct location. Thanks for the replies.
