SCCM in mixed mode. What are the security concerns in this mode? RRS feed

  • שאלה

  • Hello SCCM Community

I have a question regarding the mixed mode of SCCM and the impact on the client communication.

As far as i understand the communication is changing from https to http.

But what exactly is communicated over HTTP?
Are there any username/password going over HTTP?
Is there a way to encrypt the data traffic?
When yes, are there still some unencrypted traffic between Client/Server?
What are the security disadvantage of choosing mixed mode?

Are there any guidelines to secure the SCCM environment?

Thank you for your answers in advanced

    Best regards

    Sascha

  • I would look at it from another direction.  Mixed mode is not a security concern.  It is just that Native mode adds an additional level of Security on top of what is already there.  With this security comes the benifits of Internet Based clients.  Much like you need certificates to implement Direct Access.  No more need for VPN.
