Windows server 2012r2 failure to output Graphic signal RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello, Expert,

HPE Microserver gen10 running windows sever 2012r2 well.

Today, I add AD role and Promo DC. process running well without error.

after restart, it failure to output graphic signal.

confirm hardware all fine(cable or graphic card).

I force restart to Bios to boot from BOOT CD. output Graphic signal is fine.

select OS to boot. Monitor shows nothing. It sounds OS is boot successfully, due to Teamviewer can see it online remotely.

In my experience for adding  AD DC. it always goes fine.

Now this phenomena is strange to me. I am afraid of even reinstall OS. it  will non-graphic again if i do not get the reason.

Is there a check box for disabling for  graphic output during set as  DC?

    tks n brgds

No such checkbox or option exists. Sounds likely a one-off. I'd probably reinstall it, patch fully before adding roles or application.

  • Also try from a Safe Mode boot.

also I'd check here and with manufacturer about hardware support for Server 2012 R2, also check the chipset has been installed. The chipset allows the operating system to find and use devices integrated into the mother board.

  • Hello, Dave,

This time I do two steps. first get patches fully.

Then, I add role. and not promote to DC.

second step. I safe boot to see what it is going. It boot fine.

Third step, I reboot normal. promote to DC.  setup as default.

    Now it runs well.

Might it be not correct means to solve the problem.

However, your advice get it solved.

    Thanks!
