IE default inprivate new tab RRS feed

  • Question

  • There are many posts concerning inprivate settings.

    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/home?searchTerm=inprivate

We are looking for a comprehensive inprivate workstation deployment.

Internet Options > General > Home page field, use about:inprivate

Ctrl-Shift-P and Ctrl-K are effective, but do not stop clicked links opening in non-private tabs.
Using IE's inprivate browsing, new tabs are about:tabs.

How do we make new tabs and fresh links open as default inprivate pages?

  • Hi,

Use group policy on a 'Gest account' to hide the IE Start and Qickaccess buttons. Create a custom desktop/start menu link that launches IE in InPrivate from a command line switch. iexplore.exe -private [starturl].

use a about:blank or the first homepage for the new tabs page

    or

search the registry to find entries containing 'iexplore.exe %1" and replace the default action handlers with iexplore.exe -private %1.

    ---------------------------------------------------------

Use group policy to lock-down access to Internet Options and other shell options for the guest account.

    Regards.
