High RDP Tile processing % values RRS feed

  • Question

  • Does anyone have experience solving the RDP Tile Processing % high values? Our users are experiencing delays and frozen screen in the content presentation (Desktop Sharing or PPT files sharing).

This is not happening to all of our users, but the Server Performance dashboard is always in red for that value. Values tend to go over 1000+ to a maximum of 6000.

We are on Skype for Business Server 2015, Enterprise Edition. This is happening on different locations and in all the Pools we have deployed.

We have ran some scripts and perf counters to analyze the servers, and those are not showing overloaded servers. There are no issues with the memory. Skype processes have been excluded on the AV. For the value description, it seems not to be a Network issue.

We have also tried assigning an RDP policy for App Sharing to users experiencing this issue, but seems this hasn't help a lot. Users are using 32 and 64 bits Office version. Video drivers are updated as well.

I would appreciate your help since this our highest priority.

  • Hi!

Based on my research, the very high RDP tile is due to VBSS(video based screen sharing).

In this case, we recommend you use global Set-CsMediaConfiguration cmdlet to turn off video based screen sharing. For more details, you can refer to:
