  • Hi,

    What is the error message?

Make sure the DNS entries are correct for the file server.

Also try accessing the file server with the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN), example:

    \\fileserver.domain.com\...

    Best regards,
    Leon

  • Hi Leon,

    Thanks for the prompt reply.

When I try to access the file server from the same domain systems I'm getting access denied error even after providing the right crentials. I was prompted with the 'Enter Network Credentials' , this happens when i use //fileserver/ or //fileserver.domain.com/... .

I can successfully access the file server when i use the ip address.

I've tried the following troubleshooting steps,

    1. Removed and re-added the fileserver from the domain.

    2. Changed the name of the system

    3. Deleted and created the A record for the file server object.

    4.disabled the windows firewall

The weired part is i have created two file server at the same time but i'm not having any issues in the another file server.

The object name is reolving and i can remote desktop to the system without any issues but the only problem is accessing the file server with the host name.

    Error Seen:

We could not find the right logs, but we see Event ID'36871' in administrative logs

A fatal error occurred while creating an SSL client credential. The internal error state is 10013.

Please, could you guide me in finding the right logs and resolving this issue.

    Many  Thanks,

    NB

  • Hi,

    >> We could not find the right logs, but we see Event ID'36871' in administrative logs.

For the right logs, we suggest that on your client side, you can go to EventViewer >> Applications and services logs >> Microsoft >> Windows >> SMBClient to see whether theres any error message under SMBClient logs.

Also, on your file server side, you can go to SMBServer to see whether theres any error message under SMBServer logs. You can upload the screenshot or detailed information of the logs for us to make further analysis.

    >> The weired part is i have created two file server at the same time but i'm not having any issues in the another file server.

Im wondering when you accessed the two file servers, did you enter the same network credentials when you were prompted with 'Enter Network Credentials'?
