Internet Explorer 9 crashing Event ID 1000 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Recently a user complained that randomly, IE 8.0 would crash.  After further investigation, the "Application Logs" displayed event ID 1000 Application Error pointing to ntdll.dll and memory 0xc0000374.  The user simply re-opened IE and things worked again, until the next crash.  IE would do this probably 2-3 times a week.

Upgraded the user to IE 9.0, and the crashing continued, but at a longer interval, the user would get at least 3-4 days before a crash.  When IE crashed, it displayed the same errors.

The users system doesn't have any add-ons in IE, and we have cleared the entire history/cache of IE.  In addition, all the defaults have been reset to their original position, but the crashing continues.  The latest SP has been applied to Vista, but nothing has resolved this crashing behavior.

    Please help.
