RDWeb Password Reset not working - Windows Server 2016 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear readers I have the following issue when a user wants to reset their password via the RDWeb password reset.aspx

"Your password cannot be changed. Please contact your administrator for assistance."

What I have done so far :

    - Went into the IIS Manager and set the "PasswordChangeEnabled" to true.
    - Reset the IIS Manager via CMD.
    - Activated the logging (which doesn't work by the way).
    - Rebooted the host & client to be sure.

Does anyone else have this problem aswell or does someone know the solution to said problem?

    Hope to hear from someone.

    Kind regards,

    Sander ten Voorden

  • Hello Andy YOU,

Please let me clarify something, the users which access the RDWeb have a single application which they can boot up and use.

So they won't have the full desktop experience, just 1 program.

And no, the password reset doesn't work via the RDweb.

    Kind regards,

    Sander ten Voorden

  • hi,

1 do the new password that does not meet the length, complexity, or history requirements ?

  • Hi Andy,

1)The new password does meet the requirements, I've tried 5 different types of passwords which 100% should work.

    2) As stated in my initial post, I have tried to activate the loggings already, but that doesn't work.
