"An unspecified error has occurred" while editing drawings in visio RRS feed

All replies

  • Hi,

What is the version of Visio you are using?

Could you tell me more detailed information about how you edited drawings in Visio when the issue occurred? Such as steps to reproduce the issue.

Does the issue occur with all Visio drawings or some specific drawings?  If you create a blank drawing and edit it, will the issue still occur?

To help us better analyze the issue, you can collect event logs about the issue from Event Viewer in Windows. You can post the information without any personal privacy.

If the issue occurs with all drawings, please make sure you have update your Windows and Visio to the latest version. Also, check to see whether you have installed some update before the error. Uninstall the updates to check the issue.

You can open Visio in safe mode: Press Windows + R to start Run dialog box, type visio /safe and press Enter to start Visio. Click File > Open to open existing drawings to have a check. You can follow the steps in the article to check if cause add-in is causing the issue.

You can try to repair Visio from Control Panel.

If the issue persists, please close all third-party protection programs (anti-virus software) temporarily and all other needless program to have a check.

If the issue occurs with some specific drawings, please treat these files as damaged drawings and follow the steps in KB826418 to have a try.

If you have any updates, feel free to post back to let us know.

    Best Regards,

    Herb
