Downgrade Internet Explorer V11 Version [Windows 10] RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi everyone,

My windows 10 computers are running with Internet Explorer 11. The version is exactly 11.0.40.

I need to downgrade the version. I need to keep IE 11 but an anterior version like 11.0.37 or 11.0.24.

Can anyone tell me how i can do that ?

I tried disable/enable IE 11 with the control panel but when the computer reboots it comes back to 11.0.40.

    Can anyone help me ??

    Thanks.

    Benjamin.

  • Hi BenjaminFili,

According to your description, I find a machine with IE version 11.0.40. We could try to uninstall the IE update to check. The setting below tells us the version is related to the KB4012204.

Hope it will be helpful to you.

I don't even see any Internet Explorer updates installed.

    I don't see any updat

I tried to uninstall the KB with powershell but is says : KB4012204 is not installed.

I tried to wipe out IE 11 by deleeting files and reconstructu with sfc /scannow but it comes back with 11.0.40.

That is not a problem.  IE is a component of the OS so any updates to it can come in updates to the OS.  The latest update to the OS would be KB4015438.

So use the ones'  File Information  to check what you have.

OIC.  You are still on 1511?  Same idea.  Then you should be on KB4016636

and then use that one's  File Information  to check what you have.

So, if you really wanted to down-level IE you would have to down-level your OS.
