Windows CA - Want to add the IP-Address to the "alternate subject name" (SAN) with autoenrollment RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi!

I've just created a template for RDP in our environment, it works great as long as we use the hostname to connect to, but when we use the ip-address it wont accept the certificate, this is due to the ip-address is not added to the SAN.

Is it possible to do this? And how?

    Thanks!

Our certificate server is a 2016.

  • Hi Patrik,
As far as I know, it could be done. When you request this template certificate on the client, click Details button to configure the Properties, then you could add the IP address as below:

  • Wendy,

Is there a way to automate this?

I have the RDP certificate set-up using the GPO server authentication Certificate template within RD Session Host / Security. This auto-requests the template 'Remote Desktop' which was duplicated from the Computer template.

Can I alter my template so the IP address of the computer is included?
