  • The date format is dictated by Locale. This is effected by what locale the site is created is. It can be changed on an individual basis by clicking on the User ID drop down in the top right -> MySettings -> My Regional Settings -> Change the Locale.

  • Hi,

You can create calculated column instead.

    For example:

    1.      you have the date column like “Created”

    2.      Create new calculated column, type the formula like “TEXT(Created, "dd-mmm-yyyy")

Now you can use this column displayed in your view.

    Hope this helps

    Thanks!

  • I like this simple fix for this noted challenge. I assume this was logic for SharePoint 2010.  Does anyone have a way do to the same function in SharePoint 2013?

  • Hi,

I have a similar issue, but I need to change the format in edit & new form itself, ie when we select a date from calendar it should fill the date textbox in dd-mmm-yy format.

    Is it possible?

    Thanks in advance.
